2016-01-06 Wed
PostNl (Netherland Post) issued world’s first pop-up stamps. On the occasion of children’s book week a stamp sheet with three dimensional pictures was issued. The sheetlet shows illustrations of plants and animals. These illustrations were made by Fleur van der Weel.
The picture changes from 2D to 3D when a cardboard slider is pulled. On the part of the stamp that folds out, a bird and a butterfly are pictured taking flight, while the trunk of an elephant and the neck of a giraffe are displayed in the horizontal area underneath.
It is a pop-up stamp with a front and a back plus a secret inside.
